My name is Kirstine and I don’t take shortcuts.
It starts in Autumn 2007 when I delivered my son, Canaan. While my pregnancy was amazing, the birth was not. I ended up hemorrhaging, and both of us came within inches of almost losing our lives. With so much blood loss, my dynamic team of doctors including my nutritionist and lactation consultant all agreed I should reep the benefits of high-quality bone broth which would provide the nutrients to heal my body and help me produce more breastmilk for my baby, despite extreme postpartum deficiencies.
I’ve been making bone broth and incorporating it into our lives regularly ever since, and it has nourished us through a multitude of life experiences. As a young mama making all of my son’s food, I cooked nearly everything in stock to add nutrition for my growing boy. Steamed veggies, rice, quinoa and poached eggs went into literally thousands of recipe runs until I was 100% certain I was ready to share my delicious broth with the world!
Healing the Land
Boulder Broth aims to source directly from local farmers who are land stewards and touch the land with a more significant and strategic caress. We are committed to working with farmers who practice mindfulness of the generations to come by following nature’s template. Boulder Broth believes steadfastly in taking food from the land in such a manner that simultaneously heals it.
Boulder Broth strives to bring our farm-to-table lifestyle and healing recipes to the greater community. We desire to prove that the food movement is about a lot more than ingredients; food is a staple in the foundation of any community. As Michael Pollan eloquently stated, “food is not just fuel. Food is about family, food is about community, food is about identity. And we nourish all these things when we eat well.”
